Imazethapyr 10% SL is a selective, systemic herbicide formulated as a soluble liquid (SL). Designed for crops like soybeans, groundnuts, and pulses, it targets broadleaf weeds, grassy weeds, and sedges. It is widely used for both pre- and early post-emergence weed control. 
How It Works
  • Active Ingredient: Contains 10% Imazethapyr as the active constituent. 
  • Systemic Action: Absorbed rapidly through both the foliage (leaves) and roots, traveling to the growing tips of the weed. 
  • Enzyme Inhibition: Inhibits the ALS (Acetolactate Synthase) enzyme, blocking the production of essential amino acids (valine, leucine, isoleucine) needed for plant growth. 
  • Residual Control: Offers long-lasting soil residual activity, preventing the germination of new weeds for weeks after the initial application.

Usage & Application

  • Dosage Guide: Typically mixed at a rate of roughly 2.6 ml per liter of water (or about 400 ml per acre).
  • Adjuvant: Often used in conjunction with an MSO (Methylated Seed Oil) adjuvant for better leaf penetration.
  • Equipment: Apply uniformly using a knapsack or foot sprayer fitted with flat fan nozzles.
